MY THOUGHTS

When it comes to special edition football shirts, AIK are the first club that comes to mind. For years, they’ve mastered the art of releasing beautifully designed, highly limited kits—so limited, in fact, that I’d never managed to get my hands on one. Until now.

Their latest release immediately caught my attention. I knew this was the one I wanted to finally add to my collection. My first attempt was through the raffle hosted by Pro:Direct on release day—but like many, I came up short. That left me with one option: eBay. Enter the world of resellers, where prices are less kind and patience is rarely rewarded.

So yes, I paid more than retail—more than I would’ve liked. But once the sting of the purchase fades, the focus shifts to what really matters: the shirt itself… and even before that, the box it comes in.

AIK didn’t cut any corners here. The presentation box is a work of art on its own—meticulously constructed and designed with more care than some clubs put into their shirts. It sets the tone for what’s inside.

Then there’s the shirt. Crafted in player-spec material, it features a commanding black base with sleek, metallic silver detailing. The usual sponsor has been replaced with the club’s founding year, a subtle but powerful tribute to their history. It’s elegant, bold, and distinctly AIK.

This was undoubtedly a high-value purchase, but finally owning one of these iconic AIK special edition shirts feels like a milestone. It’s not just a shirt—it’s a statement piece. And for me, it marks a real elevation in my collection.
