MY THOUGHTS

Before the Saudi football revolution, I already owned two shirts from the country, and this Al-Ettifaq jersey is now my third. I’ll admit, this was a club I had never heard of until Saudi football started making waves in the transfer market. It’s the team that famously brought in Steven Gerrard as manager, alongside signings like Jordan Henderson and Gini Wijnaldum, just to name a few.

The shirt itself is designed by Tempo, the same manufacturer behind the Zamalek shirt in my collection. It’s well put together, with the sponsors and logos printed directly onto the material rather than screenprinted. I also really like the subtle vertical stripes, created using two different shades of green, which add a bit of depth to the design.

The best part? I managed to pick this one up for just £11.00—an absolute steal in today’s market. Deals like that are few and far between these days, so I was more than happy to take advantage of it.
