MY THOUGHTS

This Bayer 04 Leverkusen shirt replaces a previous one in my collection that I was never entirely sold on. I had been keeping an eye out for a new release that really caught my attention, and this 120-year anniversary edition ended up being the perfect fit.

Unfortunately, I wasn’t able to grab the exclusive version that came in a collector’s box, as it was limited to club members. I did consider hunting one down and selling this one, but honestly, I’m more than happy with what I have.

This is also my first Castore-manufactured shirt, giving me the chance to see if the brand lives up to the criticism it has received over the years. On first inspection, I don’t see any immediate issues—though since I don’t wear my shirts, I may not experience any durability flaws that others have pointed out.

Design-wise, it’s a fantastic tribute to the club’s origins, replicating the shirt worn when Bayer Leverkusen was first formed and featuring the original crest. It’s a clean, classic look that I think will age beautifully. A few years from now, I can see this being a shirt we look back on fondly.
