MY THOUGHTS

When I first came across this FC DAC 1904 football shirt, I was immediately captivated by its design. The only issue was that the club didn’t offer delivery to the UK. I even considered having it sent to a friend in Germany, who could then forward it to me, but for one reason or another, we never managed to finalise the plan.

Fast forward a season, and the shirt appeared on Classic Football Shirts at a lower price than I would have originally paid—even before factoring in the extra postage. In a rare stroke of luck, waiting actually worked out in my favour. Eventually, I received it as a Christmas gift in 2024, and it’s a brilliant addition to my collection.

The bright orange trim stands out beautifully against the darker green tones of the shirt, making it truly striking. It took a bit of digging to uncover the inspiration behind the design, but it turns out to be a tribute to the Danube River, the Little Danube, and Rye Island (Žitný Ostrov or Csallóköz). Interestingly, this shirt is being used for two seasons, which is fairly common practice for FC DAC 1904.
