MY THOUGHTS

I’ve now completed the set for Zürich, having added this FC Zürich home shirt to my collection. It’s noticeably less common to find FC Zürich shirts for sale in the UK compared to Grasshopper Zürich kits, but I knew that eventually, one would surface—and that day finally arrived.

After over two decades with Nike, FC Zürich made a bold move by switching to Castore, who are behind the design of this particular home shirt. The result is a fresh take on the club’s traditional look, with a bit less white than what you’d typically expect from their home kits. Still, viewed on its own, the shirt has a clean, modern appeal.

What really elevates the design are the gold logos and sponsors, which add a subtle touch of class and distinction. It’s a minimalist shirt overall, but that simplicity works in its favour—showing what Castore are capable of when they take a refined, less-is-more approach to kit design.

This shirt may not be loud or flashy, but it’s a well-executed piece and a welcome addition to my collection—especially as it now gives me both sides of Zürich’s footballing rivalry.
