MY THOUGHTS

I quite literally stumbled across this shirt while scrolling through Instagram—and I couldn’t be more glad that I did. I’d never even heard of Gamle Oslo FK before, but the moment I saw their home shirt, I knew it had to be part of my collection.

This shirt is nothing short of a work of art. It draws clear inspiration from the Coat of Arms of Oslo, featuring a beautifully rendered graphic of Saint Hallvard across the front. The design is subtly woven into the fabric rather than loudly printed, which I think works in its favour—it gives the shirt depth and detail without overwhelming the eye.

What really amazes me is that this level of design is coming from a club playing in the fourth tier of Norwegian football. It puts some top-flight kits to shame. The creativity, cultural pride, and craftsmanship are all there, and it’s rare to see a lower-division side deliver something this bold and meaningful.

Unsurprisingly, the shirt sold out fast. I'm genuinely lucky to have got my hands on one when I did. I wouldn’t be shocked if they restock it soon—there’s bound to be a growing crowd of collectors and fans wanting one for themselves.
