MY THOUGHTS

My love for pink football shirts is no secret, so when this Universidad Católica shirt popped up for sale, it was an easy decision to add it to my collection. Originally released for Pink October to promote breast cancer awareness, the shirt also saw action in some of the club’s Copa Libertadores matches in 2022.

One of my favourite features is the inclusion of the club’s original crest, swapped out for their usual one. I always appreciate when clubs incorporate historical elements into their designs, as it adds a sense of heritage to the shirt. The subtle white pinstripes running down the front are another great touch, especially as they briefly break to accommodate the main sponsor, creating a seamless yet distinctive design.

Under Armour has done an excellent job with this shirt, balancing style, meaning, and functionality. It’s a standout piece and one I’m thrilled to have in my collection.
